Legal Notice - Energy Savings Improvements Project – Air Handler Replacement

LEGAL NOTICE

Sealed bids will be accepted by Frontier Local School District (FLSD), at the Treasurer’s Office, 44870 St. Rt. 7, New Matamoras OH 45767, until 11:00 am local time, Friday, August 4, 2017 and publicly opened and read immediately thereafter for the Air Handler Upgrade Project described in the Contract Documents prepared by The Brewer-Garrett Company (BG). Bids received after this time will not be accepted.

Direct all questions to Dale Rogers, BG (T: 440.865.4632 or drogers@brewer-garrett.com). This notice is posted under News at www.flsd.k12.oh.us. Contract Documents may be examined at the Board of Education Office and are available at no cost upon request from Mr. Rogers.

Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the prebid conference at 11:00 am local time on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in the high school office.

 

Each bid must include a Bid Guaranty as described in the Instructions to Bidders. A bid may not be withdrawn within 60 days after the bid opening. FLSD reserves the right to waive irregularities in bids, reject any or all bids, and investigate bidder responsibility.

Lighting Project

The energy cost lighting installation has begun.  Lighting is being installed by Davis Pickering.  The lighting project should be concluded by the beginning of May.

7th Grade Orientation

7th Grade orientation for all new 7th grade students at Frontier Middle School will be Wednesday, August 15, 2018, starting at 6:00 pm, in the FHMS cafetorium.

Kindergarten Registration for 2019/2020

Kindergarten Registration Dates: 

March 20, 2018 @ New Matamoras Elementary

March 25 @ Newport Elementary

Incoming kindergarten students can be screened at either building.  Any child who will be 5 years old prior to the 1st of August 2019 is eligible to enroll.  Parents can either call Newport (740) 473-2667 or New Matamoras (740) 865-3422 Elementaries to schedule an appointment.

Winter Weather Procedures

During winter weather when snow and ice make road conditions unsafe, a decision as to remain in session as normal, utilize snow routes, delay or cancel school for the day may be necessary. 

 

Bus Route Consolidation Letter

Due to recent circumstances, the district is faced with a shortage of bus drivers and substitute bus drivers.  Because of this shortage we are needing to adjust some of our bus drivers routes and the pickup and drop off times for our students.  The routes effected are: Rick Taylor's, Vicki Joy's, Bill Greenwood's and Tommy Smith's.
